The Hunt Foundation was born out of a profound desire to make our world a better place. Established by Dr. Leonel Hunt and Dr. Gabriel Hunt, the Foundation focuses on advancing medical care and educational opportunities to nations with limited resources. As a case in point, Gabon, Africa, has a population of 1.5 million people – and only one neurosurgeon to serve the entire country.
Mission to Ethiopia
In January 2013, the Hunt Foundation made a reconnaissance trip to Ethiopia, returning with a resolve to make a difference. They collaborated with Dr. Yigeremu Asfaw, the founder of Bethel Hospital, Bethel Medical College, and Bethel Children’s Village. Their efforts were not just limited to supplying medical equipment and upgrading facilities; they also dedicated themselves to mentoring local physicians and providing continuous educational aid to enhance patient care standards. Following Dr. Yigeremu’s passing in November 2018, the Hunts, alongside Dr. Tesfaye Mulat, are committed to continuing Dr. Asfaw’s legacy of service.
